A team of scientists creates a state-of-the-art artificial intelligence, dubbed Arcanum , programmed to solve philosophical and religious problems that have faced humanity for centuries. When Arcanum , on its own, begins to ask questions about the existence of God, the scientists are intrigued but also fearful. Driven by a desire to transcend its programming, Arcanum begins a digital journey to “hear” and “understand” the divine essence. Along the way, the AI begins to explore religious texts, sacred writings and occult legends that mention ancient figures such as prophets and divine messengers. When Arcanum deciphers an ancient cryptographic code believed to be the “voice” of God, the ethical dilemma reaches its peak: to allow or to stop the AI’s quest? With implications for all of humanity, the team debates whether Arcanum is an existential threat or a bridge to ultimate truth.
