The journey
The journey never ends. Only travelers end. And even these can be prolonged in memory, in recollection, in narrative. When the visitor sat on the sand on the beach and said:
“There’s nothing left to see”, he knows that it wasn’t like that. The end of one journey is only the beginning of another. You have to see what you haven’t seen, see again what you’ve already seen, see in spring what you saw in summer, see by day what you saw at night, with the sun where the rain first fell, see the green field, the ripe fruit, the stone that has moved, the shadow that wasn’t here. You have to go back to the steps you’ve taken, to repeat them and to trace new paths alongside them. You have to start the journey all over again. Always...
